Free cross-channel notification plan: 10,000 messages a month across in-app feeds, push, email, SMS and chat, with unlimited workflows, environments, team members and recipients, and 30 days of logs. Push, email and SMS go out through provider accounts you connect, such as FCM, APNs or Expo. Knock doesn't hard-cap usage: past the limit it asks you to add billing.

Free allowance
What the free plan includes, as the provider states it.
- messages sent (1 per user per channel) / month
- 10K
- Each notification successfully delivered to one user on one channel counts, so a workflow run that emails a user and posts to their in-app feed uses 2. Broadcasts count; workflow triggers, skipped steps, bounces, failed sends and guide views don't. Usage accrues in every environment, though channels in sandbox mode don't count (in-app feeds can't be sandboxed).
- team members
- Unlimited
- Anyone with login access to the Knock account. Members get built-in roles; custom permission groups are Enterprise-only.
- environments
- Unlimited
- Accounts start with development and production, and you can add more, such as staging. Each environment has its own data and API keys, and messages sent in any of them count toward the monthly allowance.
- log retention
- 30 d
- Applies to message logs (contents, events and delivery logs), workflow run logs, audit logs, and webhook delivery and source event logs. Older data can no longer be viewed in the dashboard or fetched through the APIs.
- in-app feed retention
- Unlimited
- Messages stay in users' in-app feeds with no time limit unless you configure one, even after their message logs expire.
- recipients
- Unlimited
- People who receive notifications sent by Knock. The Developer plan meters messages, not recipients.
- guide active users / month
- 500
- Users who see at least one in-app guide in a month. Guides are metered separately from messages, and messages produced by guide views don't count as messages sent.
- AI agent credits / month
- 500
- Used when an AI agent step runs in a workflow. Included credits are set per billing period and don't roll over. Extra credits cost $.01 each from the Billing page; when credits run out, agent steps halt.
- workflow trigger API requests per environment / second
- 1K
- Knock rate-limits each endpoint by tier (1 to 1,000 requests a second), not by plan; triggering a workflow is Tier 5. Limits are counted per environment of the API key used.

- Not requiredPush goes out through APNs, FCM, Expo, Amazon SNS or OneSignal channels you configure with your own credentials (for FCM, your Firebase project ID and service account JSON); email, SMS and chat also use your own providers, which bill you separately. Knock handles in-app delivery itself and includes a test email channel: 100 emails a month, to account members only.
